Everyday life can get stressful. There are many ways to relieve stress and rejuvenate your energy, but essential oils are by far one of the best ways to go. With so many options on the market, it can be challenging to navigate the benefits of each scent to figure out which one is best for you. Using Ayurvedic practices, Urban Ayurveda essential oils are specifically designed based on your needs. Having a combined presence of dosha-based aromas and everyday aromas, there is an option for everyone.

What are Doshas?

As a general introduction, doshas are made up of the 5 elements and the affiliating energies that you are made up using your emotional, physical, and mental makeup. Since there are only three doshas--Vata, Pitta, and Kapha-- most individuals have 2 dominant doshas that resonate with their overall genetic make-up. It is possible though for some to have only 1 dominant dosha or all 3 dominant doshas.

Vata

The first dosha is called Vata. The elements that primarily make up the Vata dosha is air and space. The fifth element according to Ayurvedic practices is referred to as “infinity” or “space” depending on where you go. However, it is the overall energy that flows through the universe.

The characteristics that commonly make up the Vata dosha is a slim build while having a more energetic and creative mindset. When the Vata dosha is out of balance, it is easy to feel insomnia and short-term forgetfulness.

The Vata Essential Oil Blend works instantly to get your surrounding energies in balance. Using a combination of frankincense, geranium, lavender, mandarin orange, marjoram, and sunflower oil, our essential oil works to calm the over activeness that most people with Vata energies tend to experience during imbalance. In addition to using the Vata essential oil blend, those with Vata doshas should also practice meditation and yoga.

All Urban Ayurveda’s essential oils can be used for both topical use on your skin or in a diffuser.

Pitta

The primary elements that make up the Pitta dosha are fire and water. Those with a dominant Pitta dosha will have a medium build, with more of a muscular appearance. They tend to be more focused, ambitious, and are known to be intimidating and aggressive.

When Pitta doshas are imbalanced, they can become easily aggravated, impatient, and tend to overheat easily. They can also experience indigestion and anxiety stemming from the digestion track. Excess heat can also contribute to imbalances in the Pitta dosha.

The Pitta Essential oil is the perfect blend of cardamom, clary sage, frankincense, geranium, sandalwood, vetiver, and sunflower oil. In addition to finding more of a work-life balance to help ease stress and anxiety, Pitta doshas who are feeling imbalanced should create a consistent daily routine. Applying your Pitta essential oil is a great start to not only help your energy, but get used to staying on a daily routine. Not only does the essential oil help prevent any imbalances in your body and mind, but it helps you get back to a more balanced state. Pitta doshas should also strive to keep their body temperature cooler by avoiding intense heat.

All Urban Ayurveda’s essential oils can be used for both topical use on your skin or in a diffuser.

Kapha

The final dosha is referred to as Kapha. The Kapha dosha is made up of the elements water and earth. Individuals with the Kapha dosha are typically bigger-builds and tend to gain weight easily. The Kapha doshas are usually natural caregivers, nurturing, compassionate, and easy-going. Due to putting everyone else’s needs before their own, the kapha dosha often forgets to prioritize their own self-care.

Imbalance for a Kapha tends to look like constant fatigue, feeling heavy, and having low energy and motivation. An imbalanced Kapha will feel very tired, lazy, and having little productivity.

The Kapha Essential Oil blend uses combined ingredients including, cinnamon bark, clove bud, lemon, eucalyptus, rosemary spanish, and sunflower oil to help with overall energy and motivation. In addition to the Kapha essential oil blend, kapha doshas should maintain a healthy diet, daily exercise, and avoid napping or oversleeping when possible.
